Previously considered a working-class, utility company known for coolers and hardcases, Pelican was looking to change perceptions and relaunch as an influential lifestyle brand that appeals to younger audiences. When Starch Creative came to us to collaborate on this rebrand, we all said, wait a second… we might be perfect for this.
Director DJay Brawner and creative director Paul Giacomazzi knew they had to get super method with Starch’s concept of the “California Road Trip”. To deliver that west coast camp vibe, the entire cast, crew, and agency high-tailed it into the wilderness. Pelican products were used on camera and behind the scenes for fun and okay, yeah.. maybe a touch of survival. The morning coffee stayed hot and the post-shoot beers around the campfire stayed ice cold. Having road-tested Pelican products ourselves, we can say with authenticity… it’s a 10/10 would recommend across the board. And so, the end result (aka a sweet little 30-second commercial and photography campaign) is aspirational and showcases the functionality of each item.
